京都筷子製作體驗
京都の箸作り体験を紹介。河原町・烏丸・大宮エリアで体験できるのがオリジナルの「マイ箸作りプラン」。大正時代の老舗「横山竹材店」で竹を使った箸作りを体験可能。ほかには、口当たりが柔らかく、香りがよい京都の銘木・北山杉を使い、箸を作るプランも人気。箸作り体験は大切な人へのギフトやお土産にもおすすめ。

This was a nice experience where you get to create your own chopsticks basically from scratch, by shaving and sanding them from more or less raw pieces of wood. Finally, you can also decorate a little bag to carry them. In total it took around 2 hours for a completely handmade souvenir, and I had a lot of fun. The only potential downside is that the wood used is a very soft one, which makes it easy to work with, but that could impact the durability of the chopsticks. So treat them more as a souvenir and care for them properly.
